Navigating Mamsha Al Saadiyat
Dezigntechnic has created a 360-degree wayfinding strategy that covers external, internal and parking signage for Mamsha Al Saadiyat in Dubai. Through analyzing the diverse users and their navigation patterns, including both vehicular and pedestrian routes from nearby roads to the premises, we developed a user-centric design that prioritizes functionality and caters to diverse user needs. We strategically placed clear signs with intuitive symbols and directions, incorporated landmarks and points of reference, and maintained visual consistency throughout the space to facilitate effective navigation. Drawing inspiration from the external and internal elements of the beachfront Mamsha Al Saadiyat, we created a cohesive and intriguing signage design that resemble ships' sails, made with aluminium and treated wooden posts. The signage categorizes the area into three clusters, namely Lilac, Turquoise, and Azure, effectively conveying the colours of each zone through external and internal signage. The signage incorporates alphanumeric symbols and bilingual messaging in English and Arabic to improve readability and guide individuals to their destinations. The final outcome was a comprehensive and practical wayfinding system that provided clear directions for people at Mamsha Al Saadiyat, enhancing the exceptional experience of the exclusive beachfront community.
